How did you celebrate Mother’s Day?

Mother’s Day is an international holiday celebrated around the world, although the time of year vary from country to country. This year in the States, it was on May 8th. Mother’s Day started up in the year of 1908 when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother at St Andrew’s Methodist Church. She then started a campaign in 1905 to have a holiday that celebrates mother’s. Around 1908 the proposal for Mother’s day to become an official holiday was rejected by the US Congress. However, Anna Jarvis didn’t stop there and finally got Mother’s day to become an international holiday in 1914. To this day St  Andrew’s Methodist Church now holds the international Mother’s Day Shrine.
