New Class in 2017: Medical Interventions

In this new class called Medical Interventions coming in 2017-2018, students follow a life of a fictitious family as they investigate and try to prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases. They will also evaluate code in DNA of humans and will explore how to detect infections and then fight them. Students are exposed to a lot of interventions related to surgery, genetics, immunology, pharmacology, medical devices, and diagnostics. Students will also prevail when organs begin to fail in the body, and lastly evaluate cancer treatment options. This course will require independent work ethic and the class will use computers and textbooks, you can only take this class if you have taken biology, Principles of Biomedical Science, or Human Body Systems. From this class you will get a Science and a CTE elective credit.
