How are you going to celebrate Father’s Day?

Father’s Day is a holiday that is celebrated internationally. It is a holiday that honors fathers. It is celebrated every year on the third Sunday of July in the USA. The first Father’s Day celebration was held in Spokane, Washington in honor of a war veteran that was a single father of six, in 1910.

To learn about how some celebrate this holiday,  I went around and asked a few students:

Q: How are you going to celebrate Father’s Day this year?

A: “I’m going to make him a card and help my mom with dinner for him.”

Q: How did you celebrate it last year?

A: “I helped him work in our yard.”

Q: What does it mean to you?

A: “ It’s a day that I can appreciate everything that he does for me.”

Q: How are you going to celebrate Father’s Day this year?

A: “I’m going out with my family to dinner and I will pay for it.”

Q: How did you celebrate it last year?

A: “I made him a cake and got him a present.”

Q: What does it mean to you?

A:  “It means that we can respect him.”

A: “My family and I are going to Seattle.”

Q:How did you celebrate it last year?

A: “We went to the movies.”

Q:What does it mean to you?

A:” It’s a day to appreciate how great he is.”

Q: How are you going to celebrate Father’s Day this year?

A: “My dad and I are going to go golfing together.”

Q: How did you celebrate it last year?

A: “Last year we also went golfing, It’s a Father’s Day tradition.”

Q: What does it mean to you?

A: “It’s a good day to celebrate my dad and it means a lot to me because he is the reason that I’m here.”
