How is something only a theory if there is scientific evidence to back it up? Good question. I’m not sure what the answer would be. But if you are looking to read an article about why parallel universes are not possible, this article isn’t for you. This article is for the believers and open minds. And if you don’t fall into these categories, perhaps by the end of this article, you will have gone from a non believer, to a believer. All parallel or alternate universes are almost exactly like the universe you are in right now, but there is a very small difference. This difference can be defined by the Double slit experiment. YouTuber Matthew Santoro described the Double slit experiment as an investigation involving the “[firing of] electrons at a piece of material with two slits in it too see how they impacted the wall behind the material”(Matthew Santoro). But instead of producing two slit marks like the scientist hoped, the electrons created waves. Another interesting thing about this experiment is when they tried to take photos of the electrons acting like waves, the electrons went back to acting like particles as if they knew there was a camera there. An explanation for this off behavior is that they were in superposition. “Superposition is the ability of a quantum system to be in multiple states at the same time until it is measured.” In other words, this theory suggests that multiple things can exist in multiple places at the same time. There are lots of other experiments that have been conducted to prove the existence of parallel universes. As far as we know, they parallel universes do exist, we just don’t have to technology yet to get to them.
