Choir, Up Close and Personal

A Few Q&A’s

Clarissa Laflamme and Taylor Horn

Mr. Lackman

Q: You’ve been directing choirs for several years now. Does it get any easier or harder?

A: “Every year is unique. Each choir has it’s own character which is distinct and endearing… So a technique that works one time doesn’t always work the next time. Having several years of experience gives me a wider variety of to try, so I can find something that works with each particular choir. More experience gives me more tools. Each choir has its own interesting challenges and exciting results.”

Q: Have you had any one particular concert that has stood out the most with your years here at Gig Harbor High?

A: “There have been many, many amazing moments; both is performances and in concerts. It would take more time that we have and more than is available to list them all. I have been so fortunate to be at this place and this time, what a blessing!”

Senior Caroline Goodwin

Q: How long have you been in Meister’s? How does this group differ from previous years?

A: “I have been in Meister’s for three years. This year is the first year that we have had this many newcomers. Usually, Meister’s is driven by our returning members. We are flourishing and I couldn’t be happier with our turnout. We work hard and it pays off.”

Senior Brenna Peloquin

Q: So this is our first concert as a choir, how do you think we started the year off? Do you think this group can amount to the type of choir we present ourselves to be in the past?

A: “In the beginning of choir I was a little nervous about the chemistry and quality of our choir since a lot of our members had graduated. However, I believe that our choir is just as strong and we get along great as a group. I believe that we are/will be even better than we were in the past.”
