Every year Gig Harbor high school puts on a festive artisan show, complete with decorations to get the community in the holiday spirit. This tradition always seems to put students, faculty, and Gig Harbor residents in a festive mood. This year, leadership worked extra hard to produce a spectacular Frozen themed Tide Fest. The school’s walls were filled with crafty construction paper and beautifully skilled paintings. Many people came out to see the club’s stands, artisans, and decorations, bringing a pleasantly full feeling to the holiday event.

A chunk of Tide Fest is a chance for the school’s clubs to produce products and earn money for their clubs. They worked hard in selling various festive products to raise money; from wreaths to pretzels, there were plenty of gifts and treats to be had. But, there was also plenty of entertainment. The school’s choirs put on an amazing show, both Meisters and Bella Voche sang beautiful songs for the Tide Fest participants. Then the stage cleared for a children’s choir, where adorable songs emitted the holiday spirit.

Many students have been coming out to Tide Fest for years now. Senior Olivia Gates has participated in Tide Fest each year for four years and her favorite aspect of Tides Fest is always the festivities. She loves being “around the holiday spirit and decorations.” Coincidently, Senior Bridget Fouquette’s favorite thing about Tide Fest is the decorations as well. “Watching the school transform is truly amazing and really gets me in a festive mood.” There was even Anna and Elsa, from Disney’s movie Frozen, there to say high to children and emphasis the Frozen theme. Whether the extensive decorations, wonderful entertainment, crafty products, or delicious food brought people out to Tide Fest, everyone seemed to be enjoying the result of the school’s hard work.
