Everybody loves a good prank, and for those who are exceptionally interested in shenanigans, there is an entire day dedicated to pulling and receiving these antics. This day only comes once a year, so everyone should make the most of it. Here are 10 witty ideas to pull on your friends and family this April Fool’s Day.

1. Make your friend’s windshield rainbow. Squeeze a small amount of (washable window) paint onto the windshield wiper of your friend’s car in the colors of the rainbow. When they turn on their wipers, a rainbow will smear across their windshield. This works best on rainy days when they will actually be turning on their windshield wipers.
2. Tape a party popper on someone’s door. Tape the end of the string to the molding of the door frame, and tape the party popper to the back of the door. Wait for someone to open the door and confetti will fly everywhere, completely catching them by surprise.
3. Cover their room completely in post-its. This might take some time, and probably some money, but it will be hilarious to see their reaction, and to watch them clean it up.
4. Make a Febreze grenade. Tie a zip tie around the trigger of a Febreze can (or any smelly antibacterial spray). Pull it tight before throwing it and run!
5. Trick others with a tricky coin. Glue a quarter to the ground and wait for someone to try to pick it up. This one is pretty classic, but that doesn’t make it any less satisfying.
6. Keep the soap from lathering. Paint a clear coat of nail polish on your bar of soap. Whoever showers next won’t be able to figure out why there aren’t any bubbles.
7. There’s confetti everywhere! Put some confetti on the tops of the ceiling fan blades. When they turn the fan on, confetti will go everywhere. It works with glitter, too. For best results, turn the heater on so the victim will need to cool down the room.
8. Turn their backpack inside out. While the victim isn’t looking, take everything out of their backpack, flip it inside out, and put everything back in.
9. Make their computer display everything upside down. This will not only annoy them, but is very easy to switch back. On PCs, press CTRL, ALT, and the down arrow to flip the display, and press CTRL, ALT, and the up arrow to put it back to normal. For Mac computers, press CTRL and OPTION as you click display in system preferences. From there, you can choose to flip (or unflip) the display, then click save.
10. Change all the names of their contacts. You can switch people’s names around, or just make up ridiculous nicknames, but it will take them forever to sort it out!
