The Harbor Fire Girls Lacrosse team finished their season with senior night at Stadium High School.  They honored six graduating seniors who had played since the program started in 2010.  Harbor Fire created their first girls team with a mixture of middle school students and fifth graders.  Today, the girls program has grown from one team to a third/fourth, fifth/sixth, seventh/eighth, and a high school Varsity team.

Lacrosse was extra special this year despite the game’s loss. It was my last time I got to play with some of my best friends before we go to college.

— Gig Harbor senior Haleigh Vergera

The Varsity team was made up of 15 Gig Harbor and Peninsula high school students.  They made it to playoffs, but sadly lost to Mercer Island in the first round.  Although they didn’t make it too far into the playoffs, the team is still very proud of the trail they blazed for future girl lacrosse players in Gig Harbor.
