Jurassic World Review: Revival of a Classic
With the summer movie season officially at an end, let’s review one of the biggest movies to come out of the time yet, Jurassic World!
It had been fourteen years since the last Jurassic Park movie came out, and everybody was waiting to scratch that Dinosaur movie itch! Jurassic World not only scratches that itch but brings the franchise back from extinction!
One of the new things this movie has to offer is its new story and new cast. Set 20 years after the first movie, Jurassic World shows us a fully functioning and realized Dinosaur theme park! That is until the park’s newest and most “original” attraction the Indominus Rex, a hybrid mutation of several different dinosaurs, escapes it’s enclosure and causes a chain of chaos in Jurassic World. Chris Pratt from last years blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy stars as dinosaur trainer Owen who keeps the deadly Velociraptors in check and helps the other characters in the story restore order and help save the lives of the parks visitors from the hungry and ravenous I-Rex.
Fast, loud, intense, and most definitely fun, Jurassic World is a well crafted and satisfying addition to the franchise. The acting is solid, the score is as great as ever, and the Dinosaur effects themselves are very pleasing. In fact the only negative thing there is to criticize about this flick is it’s over reliance on computer generated Dinos instead of the more traditional practical Dinos the franchise usually shows. And the end of the movie is well worth the price of admission! Jurassic World now sits as the number 3 most highest grossing movie of all time. Right above Avengers and under Titanic and Avatar.
