How does one start a club at Gig Harbor High School? This was a question I found myself asking when me and a few of my friends were inspired to start a film club but didn’t know how. There are quite a few clubs here pertaining to a lot of interests, from book club to spectrum club if you have a passion, hobby, or interest of any kind there’s probably a club for it. But in the special case where there isn’t a club, and you think you could get one started then here’s how, with two steps!

The first thing you have to do is write a club constitution outlining the rules of your club and how your club will be run. This helps to show that you are serious and prepared to run a club.

The next step is to find a teacher or staff member who will moderate and host your club. This is to make sure you have a classroom or location to host your club and that someone will be there to make sure meetings do not get out of hand and that you are following school rules while on school grounds.

Once you have both of these things you are good to go! Go to Mrs. Indhal and with her approval you can start holding club meetings, activities, and participating in school events like Tidefest!
