FIFA 16 Video Game Review
A game 23 years in the making, the FIFA franchise has come a long way. Each game was better than the last. The first was released in 1993, “FIFA International Soccer” or “FIFA 94’”, it was like none other of its kind. With football (soccer) being the most played sport in the world, FIFA was bound to be a hit. This year’s FIFA 16 will “set the bar” for years to come, as it “…innovates across the entire pitch to deliver a balanced, authentic, and exciting football experience that lets you play your way, and compete at a higher level.” (EA Sports)
The game keeps improving as “you’ll have Confidence in Defending, take Control in Midfield, and you’ll produce more Moments of Magic than ever before.” (EA Sports) Have confidence in defending with new Tackling Fundamentals, Defensive Agility, and the idea of Defending as a Unit. These are great additions to FIFA 16; this will make defending easier as your players will be smarter and more agile, but ultimately will reduce the chances of you getting destroyed when your opponent scores on you.
Now with taking Control in the Midfield, players have greater “Interception Intelligence” and a new passing mechanic. Midfielders will anticipate passes and cutoff options for your opponent, which will affect both attack and defense.
Passing with Purpose allows players to make sharp, incisive passes that find teammates with precision. Moments of Magic include No Touch Dribbling, Dynamic Crossing, and Clinical Finishing. No Touch Dribbling gives players freedom not only decide how but when to touch the ball. By motion capturing FC Barcelona’s Lionel Messi players get nothing but some of the best skill moves in the world.
Dynamic Crossing changes movement and positioning of both the crosser and the attacker receiving the ball. Teammates in the opponent box make different runs to better attack the ball. Clinical Finishing mechanics allows the player to take different shots based on the position of their foot and ankle.
FIFA is a hard, but incredibly fun game. This is why for beginners or players who want to improve their game, EA has added FIFA Trainer. There are always ways to improve a player’s FIFA skills and defeat the opposition. With the new authentic Player Likeness players have been scanned to look like never before. Another big addition is bringing women players into this year’s game. Players can choose from 12 national teams including Germany, USA, France, Sweden, England, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Spain, China, Italy, and Mexico. Play as USA and your favorite women’s national team players when you dominate your friends or unknown players online.
FIFA 16 has come a long way from FIFA 15. It creates a playing experience like no other. There are always ups and downs as you play with your favorite players and dominate teams. I was very excited when I heard about what was to come in FIFA 16. I couldn’t wait to play the thrilling game of “football” with the professional soccer players I love. I recommend this game for fans of soccer and gamers who are looking for a mind-blowing experience. Get a copy today to “Play Beautiful” and experience moments of magic.
