Star Wars: The Force Awakens Review

The time has finally come, the biggest cinematic event of the year is here. Star Wars: The Force Awakens, delivers a triumphant return to the universe that changed the face of space movies and showed us the power of the force.

J.J. Abrams has done a marvelous job on reuniting us with the heroes who defeated the Empire and introducing us to the newbies that are taking the reigns of protecting the galaxy from the dark side of the force. Although being a great cinematic achievement, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, almost seems like it is a remix of the first Star Wars movie made, Star Wars: A New Hope.

Starting off with a young adult protagonist living on a desert planet, all of a sudden, they are getting thrown into the eternal war of the dark side and the light. The movie used iconic lines and shots from the original trilogy. This is not necessarily a bad thing, it was more of an attempt of reuniting an older, more exposed crowd back to the vast universe of Star Wars.

Besides the controversial use of rehashed content of plot lines and scenes, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has broken numerous records and has made over 1 billion in the box office. The return of the Star Wars universe was well received and has left us craving for the next movie to come. Overall, I would give the movie a solid 9/10. Thank you J.J. Abrams for giving us a great movie and starting a new generation of Star Wars.
