‘Eddie the Eagle’ Review
Now going into this movie I knew it was not going to blow me away. Well, I’ve come to the conclusion, that I was right. This movie wasn’t all that great even though my friends all seemed to say it was worth their time. I, on the other hand seemed to find myself half asleep during this so called “thrilling flick.” It has it’s pros, however, they are few and far between.
Now, don’t get me wrong this movie wasn’t terrible. The soundtrack by Matthew Margeson was well done and the story really was inspirational. Taron Egerton had a great performance as Eddie, and the story was obviously written on a marvelous true story of underdog success.
That being said, the rest of it wasn’t all that impressive. The acting was awkward, the plot fell flat most of the time, and all in all the movie did a poor job portraying the inspiration that it was trying to live up to. The movie was also extremely (and I can’t stretch that enough), EXTREMELY predictable. It’s the exact same as every other sport movie. You know what will happen, the person will take doubt then fail try hard and get the prize he wanted. It’s boring.
I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see a movie as a family and go into the movie expecting you won’t be amazed. I give it a 6/10. Not the worst, but certainly not the best.
