NFL Rookies to Watch This Season

This 2016 season has a number of rookies to watch out for as they try to make an impact on the NFL. Most teams believe they have the kid that will make their team shine. There have been many great rookies in the past five seasons, including wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and quarterback Russel Wilson and many great others. Here are four rookies that are being counted on this season to take off and have the best chances of doing so.

First round and number 1 overall pick QB Jared Goff has the best chance to succeed this season with a starting job almost guaranteed. He is looking to turn the Rams franchise around with a winning season. Now with the team in Los Angeles they are looking for a fresh start. He has matured after three college seasons with the California Golden Bears. Last year he threw for 4,714 yards with 43 touchdowns. He will use what he knows and continue to get better. He along with others wants to make a name for himself.

Fourth overall pick Ezekiel Elliott has a chance to become a top running back in the league with the help of his offensive line. The Cowboys are hoping to bounce back this season after a poor rushing attack last year. Elliott seems to be the guy for them that will take some pressure of Tony Romo. He brings his winning mentality after winning a National Championship his sophomore year. Last year he rushed for 1,821 yards and had 23 touchdowns. Elliott looks to follow in DeMarco Murry’s footstep, the key piece the Cowboys were missing.

The second overall pick QB Carson Wentz has the fundamentals and awareness like Jared Goff.  He also is going for a starting job and wants to be able to put his skills to use. Other than Goff, Wentz has to beat out last year’s QB Sam Bradford. Bradford has struggled with injuries in the past five years giving Wentz a better chance off starting. Wentz led the Bison to two National Championships as a starter and was apart of their five-championship streak. Most argue if he is ready to be a full time starter. The spotlights are shining and its up to him to prove others wrong.

Lastly the 36 overall pick LB Myles Jack has the chance to lead the Jacksonville Jaguars defense. He has great potential with both having experience as a running back and a shutdown linebacker. Being a Washington native and a Bellevue High school Graduate, he showed greatness on offense and defense. As a senior in high school, Jack had 98 tackles and 24 sacks. Last year before the start of his junior season at UCLA Jack tore his meniscus during a non-contact drill. This caused him to rehab and recover for the 2016 NFL season. He seemed promising in the pass seasons, but others want to know if he’s fully ready for the NFL atmosphere.
