Nerf Wars 2017 Begins

The 2017 season of Gig Harbor Nerf Wars has begun! In Nerf Wars, groups of up to 7 students work together to eliminate members of two rival groups within a given amount of time, or face having one of their own disqualified. Each rotation students are given new targets and the list of kills required in order to continue on is upped. By the end of the season, the last teams standing will face off in a battle royale with the grand prize being roughly $2,000. The students will also be hunted by two other groups, also with their own kill requirements. The students are expected to plan, collaborate, and sneak around to hit their targets. Often teams will plan extensively to carry out ambushes, alliances, and deceptions. This season there are 32 teams on the hunt and attacks have already begun.

Some limitations include:

  • No shooting in official “Nerf-Free” areas, a list of which is provided online.
  • Students may not enter other’s homes or damage their property.
  • If students are asked to evacuate the premises, they must or could face legal action.
  • Drivers cannot fire their guns while their car engine is running.
  • Students driving or inside of a running car cannot be shot.
  • Students cannot be shot on their own property if they are fully naked.
  • Students cannot block other’s garages, sensors, or cars.

Further rules and specifications are available on the Nerf Wars 2017 website or official Twitter. Nerf Wars is entirely student-run, therefore Gig Harbor High School does not in any way sponsor the event or take any responsibility for it.
