Washington State Fair
Every year for most of the duration of September, the Washington State Fair is held. Located in Puyallup, it is the biggest tourist attraction to western Washington, so much so that people out of state come, including some even some from other countries including Canada. Lasting for 24 days, this event obviously has hundreds of attractions and events, from the couple dozen clothing tents, to the massive expos, shows, and rides that are presented each day. As usual, the shows consist of various forms of horse, dog, cow, and many other animal judging, which happen every year. The rides rarely change but have yet to reach the end of their thrill. These rides include a total of three roller coasters, various forms of swings and spinning rides, and a tower drop called the extreme scream.
Among the shops, include various clothing and accessory shops, souvenir shops for both the fair and hundreds of other affiliations, and dozens of furnishing shops that sell things like hot tubs, furnaces, smithed and carved items of every variety. Contrary to the shops outside, the expo buildings house hundreds of different businesses that show off hundreds of different products. As I explored over the course of two days I found a few unlisted attractions like a traveling game show which if you answer enough questions accurately, you could win a variety prizes able to be traded in for a chance for $100.
It is without question that a fair wouldn’t be a fair without fair food. With popular choices such as elephant ears, funnel cake, corn-on-the cob, and obscurely-made deep-fried everything (which I do not recommend to those who care about their health), you are bound to have an amazing time without doing anything else!
All these things, along with good advertising make the fair a great place to visit, whether it be for the shopping, the animals, the rides, or the food.
