As we approach winter, the weather gets colder and people tend to stay indoors to keep warm. Although, winter is filled with fun outdoor activities, so bundle up and get ready to brace the cold. Firstly, grab your snowboard or skis and head to the slopes. Washington is filled with ski resorts such as Crystal Mountain, Mt. Baker Ski Area, White Pass Ski Area, etc. “White pass is a fun place, the lodge is really cozy and fun, has good beginner trails and hard expert trails,” Aly Weir. “ White pass has good food, and fun runs,” Paige McMahon. Another fun activity to join in on this winter is the holiday boat parade in the harbor. This takes place on December 8th this year. The Harbor will be filled with boats lit up with holiday lights and holiday music from every boat. “The boat lights get me in the holiday spirit, I enjoy being out on the water and seeing all the beautiful lights,” Heather Payne. The last fun idea to get out this winter is the yearly tree lighting. This takes place down in the Harbor, many people will go grab their hot cocoa and wait for the beautiful tree to light up with multi colored lights. “The tree lighting is such a fun night, I get so many holiday/festive feels after going to watch the tree light up. Highly recommend going to see it, but make sure to bundle up and bring a hot drink!”Avery Wellbrock.
