Veterans Day

Veterans Day

It’s already Veterans Day! Instead of having Friday off for a three day weekend, Veterans Day is on Thursday so we do not attend school on that day. Our assembly was on Tuesday, and although most students watched it live from their classrooms, it still brought tears to people’s eyes. “I legitimately cried,” said Morgan Weaver (9). It really reminded us that we have so much to be thankful for. The choir was beautiful singing our national anthem, and the video that was shown really helped people realize that a huge part of being in the military is losing friends and being without family. Commander Hood shared his story with us, and even though it was short, it meant a lot. He shared his incredible experiences, and taught us more about the significance of the holiday. Here are some other students that have to say things about the assembly: Sami Huber (11) said “It really touched my heart. It was nice sitting in the classroom while watching the assembly, because it was quieter and easier.” Katelynn Ashlock (10) said, “I thought the assembly was very well done.” Joey Campbell (9) said “It was phenomenal. My friends were all in the class with me, and we all thought it was superb.” Tanner Riley (9) said “It was amazing; I love America!” We also got to see the NJROTC students in action, honoring those that have served. Thank you to all the people that have served, are serving, and will serve in their future. On Veterans Day, remember to think about those who have fought for our country, living or not. Pray for the people that have lost family members in the military, and take your time to thank our soldiers for their service. They go through so much and they sacrifice themselves to keep our country safe.
