The Michigan Wolverines were in complete control in this game and were leading the way both offensively and defensively, while suffocating the Huskies dominant offense. The O-line for Washington was not able to keep Penix Jr. from being pressured to allow him any time in the pocket to throw to his skillful receivers. The secondary for Michigan was also on lock down as they were also able to secure two interceptions.

The run game for Michigan was just too easy as it all started in the first quarter as the Wolverines had two rushing touchdowns from Donovan Edwards for 41 yards and 46 yards. This was the backup running back for the Wolverines had a dominant game and he wasn’t even the leading back as star running back Blake Corum rushed 134 yards as well as two touchdowns. JJ McCarthy didn’t really have much to participate in this game because the run game was very explosive, but McCarthy was able to make the pass plays and drums he needed to make when it mattered the most to convert on third down, and it kept drives going.

There were many penalties also on Washington that called back several long plays because of holding that resulted in frustration for the Huskies. The defense for Washington was able to contain the Wolverines offense when they needed to, but the offense for the Huskies couldn’t get anything going. Ultimately, this led to Michigan maintaining momentum in the latter part of the second half, as they were able to pull away with two more scores in the fourth quarter, to finish off the win with a 34-13 lead.

Michigan Wolverines fan Austin Nelson (9) described how the Wolverines were able to have a strong game all around. “UW really struggled throughout the entire game and Michigan brought their A-game. There was nothing the Huskies could do because our offense and defense both played phenomenal to hunt down those dawgs.”

Along with this, Gavin McLellan (12) a Washington State Cougars fan, was rooting for Michigan to win that game, and he was excited about the outcome. “Their quarterback fumbled under pressure, and they didn’t party the night before so that ultimately lost them the game.”

Washington Huskies fan Parker Bare (11) said, “It was a disappointing performance and was dreadful to see the offense because it was so pathetic being locked up by the Wolverines. The defense was able to make stops when they needed to buy in the end it all came down to our poor offensive possessions.”

The Michigan Wolverines were the winners of the 2024 National Championship as multiple players from the winning team will move on to the NFL Draft this upcoming April. It is a great sign for Michigan Wolverine football that this program has been moving in the right direction as head coach Jim Harbaugh has done an incredible job getting this program to where it is now.
