If you’re new in town or just looking to spice up your date ideas, look no further! Many places in Gig Harbor are pretty expensive, but there are a few local gems that offer just as fun of a night for a lower price! Don’t stress about your next date! Look no further for 10 spectacular date ideas, some that won’t drain your wallet and others that might be a little more pricey.

Free: 

Gig Harbor History Museum

The Gig Harbor History Museum has free admission but does accept donations. The museum has much to offer with artifacts, paintings, special exhibits, and boats under construction! The museum is rich in Gig Harbor’s history, and you can really learn a lot about how people found and created Gig Harbor! There are also many little shops, restaurants, and waterfront access within walking distance from the museum, making it a great place to visit on a night out!

Gig Harbor tree lighting. 

The Gig Harbor Tree Lighting is a beautiful free tree lighting that could offer a holiday twist to a date night. The lighting takes place on December 7th, 2024, at dark. There are also opportunities to get hot chocolate and cookies; as well, the tree lighting takes place right by the public dock right in the center of gig harbor, with many little shops around to buy presents or to just shop around!

Cheap $10-30:

Iscreamery 

Located right in the harbor, Iscreamery is best known as an ice cream shop and a restaurant. Cheap food, fast, and in a beautiful location helps set the stage for a cute date idea. Little shops all around also serve as another activity you could tack on to a date. For two people, you should be able to get a meal (entree and fries) and an ice cream for two people below $30.

Finholms Market and grocery

On the far side of the harbor, Finholms is a small market that offers everything from sodas, chips, and candy to drinks on tap and seating areas where you can relax and talk. This small shop always has a calendar full of plans on weekends consisting of contests, watch parties, live music, and events. Finholms is known for its community and has been around for decades in Gig Harbor.

Mid range: $45-70:

Galaxy Theaters

The only movie theater in Gig Harbor may be a bit on the expensive side if you get bang for your buck. The theater has amazing reclining seats that can fit your comfort level, and the theater has a wide range of traits and drinks you can choose from. The theater is also located in one of the most popular places in Gig Harbor, so after your movie you have many places to walk to for dessert or just to shop around. Going to a movie is a common date idea, but you can make it better by going to Galaxy theaters.

Blazing onion burger

A great restaurant located right in the middle of Uptown serves burgers, soups, salads, fries, and so much more for a not too expensive price. The perfect place for dinner on a Friday night, this lively restaurant shows any sporting event on, and the reactions from fellow patrons are enough to have a lot of fun! Like I said, Blazing onion is located in an uptown walking distance from the movie theater, clothing stores, and cute ice cream and dessert shops.

Expensive $80-100:

Java and clay 

Java and Clay is a fun and unique date idea, located in a cozy coffee shop in the middle of the harbor with stunning views! Here you pick ceramic mugs, plates, bowls, ornaments, and small figurines, for example, and paint them how you want. They have a variety of different colors and stencils you can use to make the best art piece! The coffee shop attached offers baked good and delicious drinks you can enjoy while painting!

Gig Harbor gondola ride

If you want beautiful sights and a romantic evening, look at the Gig Harbor gondola rides. For one hour around the harbor is $100; here you can enjoy a nice relaxing ride around the harbor that is nice and romantic. The riders have the option to bring up to 6 people and have the option to have appetizers or drinks on the ride!

Very Expensive $120-200:

Escape Hour Gig Harbor 

If you want a scary twist on a date idea or just a chance to have the pressure turned up, look no further than Escape Hour Gig Harbor. In these escape rooms, you have to solve puzzles, find clues, and find the way out of the room. There’s many different rooms, ones if you want a scary twist and ones that aren’t so intense. These ranges of rooms offer you to go multiple times and still be entertained!

Anthony’s

In this beautiful restaurant right on the water, you can find some of the best seafood Gig Harbor has to offer. Anthony’s is an award-winning restaurant that is known for its beautiful scenery and its delicious fresh fish. Now, it is on the more expensive side, but Anthony’s is very worth it. Anthony’s is known in Gig Harbor as being the “special occasion” restaurant due to its luxurious feel.
