MLB Playoff Predictions

AL EAST: Toronto Blue Jays

Currently they are 3rd in their division but only 2.5 games back, they could easily win this division with their young pitching led by Marcus Stroman and powerful hitting led by All-Star Josh Donaldson.

AL CENTRAL: Chicago White Sox

The White Sox are 22-10 and Chris Sale looks untouchable. They are winning a lot of games without some of their big hitters producing like they normally do. Jose Quintana is one of the most underrated pitchers in the MLB and him and Sale are a deadly 1-2 combo.

AL WEST: Seattle Mariners

The Mariners are red hot and Robinson Cano is leading the AL with 12 home runs. The Mariners are tied for the league lead with the Astros for most home runs and are 4th in team ERA.

NL EAST: New York Mets

There’s no question that the Mets have the pitching to win the division and last year their bats got hot in the summer. If they can get that combination going again this year they will win the division with room to spare.

NL CENTRAL: Chicago Cubs

Off to a blistering start to the year with last year’s Cy Young winner, Jake Arrieta, and Rookie of the Year Kris Bryant. Right now they are being compared to the 2001 Seattle Mariners who won an MLB record 116 wins. They are the only team with single digit losses and are showing no signs slowing down any time soon.

NL WEST: Los Angeles Dodgers

Any team who has a pitcher like Clayton Kershaw leading the way will be a serious contender to make the playoffs. The Dodgers have him as well as Kenta Maeda who came over from Japan and is making a big impact in the show. With hitters like veteran Adrian Gonzalez and prospect Corey Seager it will be difficult for them to be beat throughout the season.

AL WILD CARD Seed 1: Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox are hitting the cover off of the ball no matter who is facing them on the mound. Recently they scored 8 runs in 6 innings against last years American League Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel. David Price has been off to a slow start but has shown he can recover from bad starts in the past.

AL WILD CARD Seed 2: Texas Rangers

Led by veteran pitching in Cole Hamels and hitting of Prince Fielder and future Hall of Famer Adrian Beltre the Rangers will have the experience to make the postseason. They are currently 5 games over .500 and will be getting flamethrower Yu Darvish back in a matter of weeks.

NL WILD CARD Seed 1: Washington Nationals

The Nationals have arguably the best hitter in the game in Bryce Harper and paired with the pitching of Stephen Strasburg and Max Scherzer they would win most divisions and should be a very feared team in the postseason.

NL WILD CARD Seed 2: Pittsburgh Pirates

Stuck in the same division as the Chicago Cubs, the Pirates have a very slim chance at winning the division but with their young pitchers and hitters having postseason experience they should have no trouble getting a Wild Card spot.
