The Tides look to continue their unbeaten run into State versus Skyline.

The Gig Harbor Tides are 10-0 after their big win last week against the visiting Mariner Marauders. They will travel up to Sammamish this week to take on the KingCo Champion Skyline Spartans (9-1) for the first round of the State Playoffs.

There are only 16 teams in the 4A classification that are still playing and the Tides look to be one of them in the Round of 8.

The Spartans have outscored their opponents 439-167, while the Tides have outscored theirs 480-95. The Tides will look to limit Skyline’s running game and pressure their quarterback with a strong presence on the defensive line.

“We’re excited to go up there and compete. It will be one heck of a game!” says senior defensive lineman Nate Younk.

We asked senior slot receiver Dylan Lindmark what he thinks the keys to a win are. “Receivers getting open and catching the ball will be huge. We also need to have a great week of practice.”

Students, family and friends need to make the trip up to Sammamish to support our Tides this weekend. Our prediction for the game is a 35-31 Tides win.
